I know this question has been asked many times before, but there are always new ones out and new opinions. I really don’t want to spent more than $200. I heard the Bel RX65 and 995 are good. Anyone have one that can give me a good opinion? thanks!

I have a Bel Vector 940 and it seems to work well, although I haven’t been in any direct speed traps yet!
Hands down, bar none the Valentine One is the best to get. It is a bit pricier but has the best reviews by car and driver and check out the web site. Also I own it and it has saved my ass a lot of times. Trust me the best.
it depends on how much you want to spend. the best one is the Valentine V1. no question. but that will set you back about 300 to 400 bucks, depending on where you are buying. but if you want to buy something cheaper than go with cobra. i think the model number is XRS9730. has pretty good reviews of it will set you back about 180 bucks. but let me tell you one thing that a cop once told me. if your laser/radar detector can detect a laser or radar, there is a 90% chance that you are already been clocked!!
because in that case you can argue in the court about the effectiveness of their laser gun!! 
usually the expensive units have longer range. they can detect the laser gun from greater range quickly. and if i am not wrong a cop will not pull you over unless they clocked you for about 3 to 5 seconds from a distance of about half a mile. if you saw him or detected him/her over a mile away and slowed down, they will let you go!!
I find it interesting that people want to buy a device that detect law enforcement measures that protect you from your own stupidity of exceeding the posted speed limits signs that protect you from your own stupidity.

Beltronics STI. its there new detector that can pick up radar from over 11 miles away. more range then the Valentine 1. heres a good read.

i have a Bel 995, and love it.
also IMO if cops have the right to clock me, i have the right to know about it. doesnt mean i’m speading, doesnt mean i’m not.

Valentine One radar hands down is the best radar out there. We have 3 of these n has saved us from many tickets. the range on these radars are unbelievable sometimes up to about a mile range.
